Thread regarding Microsoft Corp. layoffs

I can't understand people who are championing AI. Don't you realize that you're basically cheering on the very thing that will most likely be responsible for the elimination of your job? I understand that it's inevitable, but why people are happy about it when there's an axe hanging over their heads is beyond me.
