Bingo! Although I will say I went to a store near me to do an Amazon return. Didn’t buy anything while there but actually had a good experience with the person at the return counter had a smile on her face and everything. I was shocked last few times I was there the service was an abomination and incredibly rude. No one in the store shopping that seems to be the trend with this retail chain which is not a good sign for the future.

Staples is closing stores. I turned down a job offer at Staples in January because of that
Two stores I have been the GM of in the last 6 months have had a hard time hiring for all positions. And my District is down several GM’s for 6 months and the positions haven’t been filled (having hard time attracting candidates). Why? Hard to say with 100% certainty, but I would guess that the word on the street is Staples is in financial trouble and is a stressful place to work, combined with low wages (compared to other retail and fast food jobs) equals nobody wants to work here.
