Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Navi/PTO

Anyone under the navi umbrella get news this week on a change in process for requesting PTO? Trying to find out if this is just SNF PSC affected? Hoping others from different departments can chime in.

This wasn’t a corporate change, just more of the navi micromanaging kind of culture they have going on. I’m hearing that PTO requests need to be put in early and then CTMs will choose who gets to have off when. You’ll know 3 months before the requested date I believe? Trying to reign in time off to balance business needs. Bereavement for immediate family members is 2 weeks as of last Jan so I’m sure that’s why they are saying what is posted below. This is pre-service.

If your manager says anything besides "take whatever time you need" when there is a death in the family, find a new manager!

I work under Navi and haven’t heard about any changes to the PTO or bereavement policy. What are you being told? I looked in sparq and there isn’t any updates from what I’ve seen

Quick heads-up about your PTO. If you’re planning on leaving the company, make sure to use up any remaining PTO before you go. Depending on what state you live in, they may not be required to pay out unused PTO when you leave.

Some states don’t require employers to pay out unused vacation time when you quit, so if you’ve got time saved up, it’s better to use it rather than risk losing it.

Navi here. Our director said to plan accordingly around deaths in our family to make sure we could still meet the needs of the business. Tighter PTO allotments for our department too.
