10+ years here and Ive tried everything recently to mentally spin whats going on in my head to find some kind of a positive note but I can't. I have none and I'm all out of ideas.
Up until the last few years it was good to average. Now its constantly appalling.
I'm mentally exhausted given how amazing, hard working people (my teams) try their best then get shafted. I will be doing my best to exit in 2025. Have repeatedly had an exceeds reviews in my time here but Im all done with trying anymore...
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, things I have seen and heard recently include:
- Facilities stopped ordering paper plates, napkins, plastic cutlery to save a few $. Slaves can bring their own
- Any leader thinking they can bring in some lunch for their team as an Xmas thank you - no chance. Fiserv refusing to pay for any expenses like this. Leaders were told to pay for it themselves (don't try and expense it)
- More RIFs to come and Sapience + badge swipe assessments to continue. They will then layer on how much RR people took as well. Unlimited RR is absolute BS
Meanwhile its still a multi BILLION share buy back operation purely for the Execs benefit.
I could go on and on but it is futile. The only way I can mentally deal with having to work here every day is to treat it like I am a contractor. I'm not an employee Im just a hired hand to work X hours for what I'm asked to do and thats all you get. You won't get an ounce more.
I'll fake smile and pretend interest, I'll praise up and kiss as a little to maintain a paycheck until I find my exit. You won't have any idea Im checked out in the meantime.
There will be continued word salads from leaders like JG or similar at town halls. 'exciting' 'great' 'fantastic' 'thrilled' 'One Fiserv' etc and I couldn't care les anymore. Ill attend those meetings and the sound will be off. They couldn't care less about their employees - I stopped caring anything about the company as a result. Who in their right mind is 'excited' anymore working here?
So HR people on here - perhaps you can report back on your findings to say that many many GOOD employees are demoralized, tired, frustrated, over worked, fearful, bored and checking out as a result of all this BS. Done, game over, enough is enough.
Its ironic that many of the moves made were to increase productivity. They are having the opposite effect in a horrible horrible way.
It's not going to get any better anytime soon. EVERYONE should working on their own exit plan to try and take control of the situation before they take care of your position for their bonus and stock options.
Thats all they care about regardless as to what comes out of their mouths
