Thread regarding BD (Becton Dickinson & Co.) layoffs

Serious advice for upper management.

Serious advice for upper management:

Stop blindly demanding more from your employees while drowning us in endless layers of red tape. You’re making already demanding jobs unsustainable.

If you want real productivity gains, focus on streamlining workflows and fixing operations instead of passing the buck to middle management. Pressuring them to squeeze more out of us isn’t a strategy—it’s laziness and short-sightedness.

Most of us are already running on fumes. Your employees aren’t as replaceable as you think. High turnover will wreck your business, your profits, and your reputation.

This company has a fiduciary duty to its shareholders. Constant layoffs and wringing every last drop out of your workforce won’t yield the returns you’re hoping for—it’ll do the opposite.

Stop sc--wing over your employees and your shareholders. Get it together before your employees unionize and do it for you.

Maligning BD won’t help. BD is an organisation for dimwit, and if you are intelligent and still joined BD, it is your problem. You cannot claim that all organisations should be run on merit.

But, if you have already made a mistake of joining , learn how not to run an organisation. Once you join a mature organisation, you will appreciate this experience.

Upper Management in BD is structured in a way that positions seem inversely related to intelligence quotient—those with lower IQs often rise to higher positions. Unfortunately, individuals with lower cognitive abilities may be more inclined to engage in unethical practices, often preferring to surround themselves with similarly less capable individuals.

I don't believe any advice to upper management will be effective. What we really need is someone from outside the organization with a fresh perspective—someone who can remove the corrupt individuals and replace them with people who have both the skills and integrity to lead.

For anyone joining, if BD is your only option, go for it. Otherwise, if you have above-average potential, it's better to stay away.

TTM net profit of Boeing is negative $8B. If Airbus was an US company, Boeing would have been bankrupt and sold by now.

I mean she came from Boeing and Sprint haha. That should tell you a lot about it the quality of her leadership abilities. Man I love this page! I don’t even work at BD anymore.

Terminate the CEO, CFO, CIO, and their minimons; this will significantly reduce costs and improve efficiency. If only we had someone like Elon Musk leading us.

BD needs to clean house, starting with those DEI hires. Take the CIO, for example - that's what happens when you prioritize diversity over competence. Every time she opens her mouth in public, it's a PR nightmare for the whole company. And don't even get me started on her VPs - they're deadweight. All they do is outsource everything to line their pockets with vendor kickbacks. If any board members are reading this, start shaking things up here. You'll see a massive boost in IT performance and return on investment.

I’m sure they will continue to replace/supplement the loss of talent with more consultants who have no skin in the game other than cashing a check. BD Excellence at its finest.
