Put me out of my misery.

The problem is other companies pay cr-ppy too. It's unfortunate what America has become.
Isn't it funny how all the non whining sensible replies get downvoted. Lmfao!
Leave. I know it takes guts to be responsible for yourself and not be able to blame others. So go. Own your actions and their outcomes.
I WAS laid off...after 12 years of service. I am the only income earner in my household.
I waited 9 weeks to get severance, during which, I was fighting to get unemployment benefits and living on credit cards. the cost of my insurance--no longer subsidized by an employer--is now seven times as expensive. my depression has gotten worse, but I'm weighing the cost of going to the doctor against whether or not I can continue to function.
and because of the tech bubble bursting, trying to get another job is ridiculously difficult. I have applied for dozens of jobs without so much as a pre-screen interview.
it's not a vacation. it's not fun.
**anytime you want to trade, you let me know. **
if you're honestly that miserable, QUIT. then you can enjoy all of this adventure some of us are experiencing first hand! in the meantime, stop acting like you're the only person who has a burden to bear. be GRATEFUL you have reasonably affordable healthcare, access to a steady income, and 401K matching.
For those few who actually live under a rock. For those who have their heads buried so deep in the sand that somehow your brain doesn’t get enough air. There are those who actually try to do the job correctly. But you know what you get for your trouble, a manager or a director who parrots the corporate lingo but have no clue what the big guy is telling everyone he wants which is quality. But this man is so far removed from reality of what actually goes on here. How many have been told answering the phone is not your job, answering some providers question is not your job. We have departments that do that. Helping actually helping someone isn’t your job, we have a team that does that but on a daily basis you see the horror that the rest of America sees. Mr. W should either look and hear what most of his employees expressed and either start practicing what he likes to send out in his communications or just stop putting on the show. That’s is what’s frustrating about this company all the two -faced management.
You are not being held hostage, you can quit.
Why are you so negative?
