Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Challenging 2025

It's only Dec and all the ESC leadership and scrambling to ask the plants to cut OE within 4 walls. That's the issue with lack of growth. You cannot cut yourself to prosperity

Unless there are new innovative products, no matter how the reorganization- the results is the SAME.

The TEBG reorg is reminiscent of A3M in the sense that no one internally can competently describe what it is or why it is of any benefit. And like A3M, it was likely birthed in recesses of the minds of grossly overpaid consultants unfamiliar with 3M, its customers, or its operations (the default choice when our execs are clueless).

I’m sure it must be great though, because there’s a ton of MBA-speak in it.

What is a "vertical" anyway?

Don't really understand how the new TEBG MODEL- product platform and verticals, would result in better Growth? To me it looks to shuffle another musical chairs.

It will not be a challenging year if we change some names of divisions and move some things around.

How many more years does BB have? Probably maximise for his exit time.

Feels like they just to cut their way out of business and cash in along the way before moving on.

Short-term profits is the name of the game here.

Those at the top don't care about growth or the long-term health of the company. They'll cash out & move on, leaving the wreckage for the regular employees who do the actual work day-in & day-out.

Are they expecting different results? The rich get richer.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results…

Next year will be full year performance for the new CEO+CFO combi. Surely they would push all the way to impress wall street.

You can't cut your way to prosperity, but you can cut your way to short term profits, baby!
