Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

Corporate Leaders Are the Problem

They foster a culture of
zero accountability. Look back at earnings releases. When times are good, the credit goes to Internal forces- teams are executing, the focus on customers is paying off, etc. When things aren’t going so well, blame is ALWAYS on external forces- the market is bad, the price of corn is bad, there are issues in the Ivory Coast with cocoa supply, the cattle herd is low, there was a disease with chickens, etc etc etc etc etc. excuses excuses excuses. Leaders are paid to manage through these things. To Cargill senior leadership- If you can’t lead through normal market dynamics or manage maybe you have chosen the wrong career.

Agree 99.9% when times are good all the credit goes to the spreadsheet, number crunching 30 hour per week keyboard warriors.
