More terrible behavior pushing senior people out the door....replacing institutional knowledge with more chronies and yes people. Way to go C. N. That terrible hire has single handedly forced all senior talent out the door that was trying to fix your dept. And she still hasn't relocated to an office as promised....rules for the plebes, not your chronies.

I work in the HR space, and can confirm most people have these same perceptions, yet leadership doesn’t seem to care. Changes are discussed then not implemented. The OP is correct that HR is really poor at Schwab. I’d say there are too many Directors and can probably reduce a good 50% of that level in HR.
Too top heavy has made it political and inefficient, and stop paying consultants just hire people that get stuff done and collaborate with others.
- N. is a joke. Take my advice, run far and fast so you don't get caught in the sh-t storm that is coming. I couldn't be happier with my decision to leave.
It's a cr-p job. When enough people from other departments are laid off and no one else left, HR will turn on each other. That happens at every toxic firm. That is how they are molded. There is also bad karma attached to this unethical approach.
If any one of these HR folks are smart, they will go work elsewhere even if for less money because this behavior will haunt them personally and professionally later if not already.
HR isn’t a joke here.
They do what they’re paid to do. Be hypocrites supporting bad managers bullying people out.
Schwab HR has been a disaster the entire 10+ years I've worked there. A complete joke, in every way.
I work in that group and C.N. makes us all
Disfunctional. We could do so much more would it not be for him.
- N. has run the entire function into the ground. He has no plan. No strategy. No knowledge or experience in anything remotely close to either shared services and product management. The leader of HR product left because of him. Another good product director left in April because of him. And now the last good product director is leaving because of him. Maybe someone with half a brain will take notice.
Strange from a company that's supposed to help investors manage retirements.
The industry is changing, and Schwab is not ready, nor does it have its priorities straight in order to become ready. It's only a matter of time.
As the saying goes “you don’t retire from Schwab, Schwab retires you”
How many people were affected today?
@lyq+1vW672rf - Which dept? Pick one and you'd be right on the money.
Which department?
