If 18A was on track and yielding, Pat would still be in charge. That is the one piece of bad news that would cause the BOD to pull the rip cord on Pat's 'moon shot' as he called it.

No surprise here. Intel thought itself much smarter then ASML and TSMC and said it didn't need EUV to maintain leadership in process tech...

The rest is history. Intel fell 3 generations behind and is it any wonder they are struggling with 18A? If the made the wrong decision to forego EUV, what makes you think they can switch back to it in a timely manner?

The problem is that the company is burning through cash faster than it can learn how EUV works...
