As Dirty Harry once said, MD is a legend in his own mind..

It was disconcerting how not prepared he sounded.

It's actually quite sad: I remember the days not so long ago when employees looked up to MD and held him in high regard. Alas, he has become a watered-down clown version of his former self. Should've left when he was at his peak to have his legacy outlive him, instead of running it down to the ground now.

What do you expect him to say at this point?

"they are lurching from one external influence to the next in a reactionary manner. "

true. and jumping from one buzzword to the next.
Why did they liquidate so much land and buildings then? It does not convey growth and success.

" management knew it was the top"

Management knows nothing... they are lurching from one external influence to the next in a reactionary manner. No forward or joined-up thinking

"this was the creating chaos & frustration he was spouting about."

chaos? it actually gave dell good sales but they squandered the money. Generally successful companies grow and expand.
Dell was liquidating buildings and land. I think management knew it was the top for them during the pandemic.

Yup. Keep in mind the last bo-m years was due to a worldwide pandemic to boost sales. A world wide pandemic was needed.

Riding the tailwind of customer demand...

Customers being forced to update their hardware due to Microsoft EOL'ing their OS is not a shining example of Dell selling something that customers want. Relying on a third-party to EOL software to drive sales is a shocking business model.

Did you make a typo? Mean to use a ‘z’ at beginning of that?
