Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Flex time is a Joke!!!

Flex time off" can be considered a joke by some because, despite appearing to offer unlimited time off, studies often show that employees with such policies actually take less vacation time than those with a set number of days, as the lack of clear boundaries can lead to guilt or pressure to not take time off, essentially making it a "benefit" that doesn't translate to real time off for many people; in essence, the flexibility can create a situation where employees feel obligated to always be available, even when they should be taking a break.

The slackers are pretty obvious. Do what I do...track your time in case anyone asks.

Walmart already has a way to track it. Look under your desk for the tiny square with the QR code that monitors when your desk is occupied. Combine that with badging in and badging out.

This is not theory. This is true.

This is especially bad for people who have longevity in seniority based time off plans. It’s like they worked 10 years to get 5 weeks of vacation, but now everyone can have 5 weeks of vacation, even the new guy.

And in a very quickly changing environment such as we’re about to see (mass migrations back to the office, for example) you can bet managers will be looking to see who is there (BIS - butts in seats).

Walmart would find a way to track it measured against your performance rating.
