Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

Questions about laid off EE’s…

How many were let go within a few years of retirement? How many were let go right before their 25-year anniversary? How many were let go based on a certain age… near 55? How many were let go because they weren’t buddies with their managers vs. performance based?

The communication wasn’t clear nor consistent. What was the process that was implemented and followed???

I was let go 1 month shy of 25 years and 4 months before I turn 55!! If you read the servant package, it makes a difference in the payout. It’s all about money. No more People First. Cargill lost a lot of talent and the impact will be for years. To the ones are staying- be smart and be prepared… learn from this please. Best of luck

I was let go with age of 54. 26 years in the company. I had a great time and career. Lots of my team was laid off as well, the ones probably staying are around 10-15% of the former team size will struggle a lot. Happy I don’t need to stay and see the company dying in the next years. Lots of people which are staying have already started to look for alternative outside. Anyway good luck to the retained people and Cargill will be forever part of my life.
