Nope its a ‘roomed’ project for layoff prep.
If there is any truth to this it is likely prep work for the split.
Right, it will take such huge systems to be able to perform the simple transactions of turning off access. Even an Intel laptop could handle the load of rapidly turning off access for all remaining employees assuming it doesn't blue screen.
