Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

We are going to be in the news none stop

Prior authorization denials, claim denials, blaming us for family members deaths and other stuff is already showing up on social media since the death. It’s just going to get worse. My family asked if I felt my job was safe and I said not anymore because now the company is going to be watched so closely you can’t even sneeze without being questioned. We are going to have members threaten media coverage like crazy now

We do follow InterQual clinical evidence based guidelines. We approve far more cases than we ever deny. And a lot are overturned on appeal.

The feds need to take over and do an internal investigation on how claims are reviewed and denied totally crooked. Doesn’t follow standard of care and doesn’t follow scientific base medicine called inter Qual.

To the person who posted this “ We are going to be in the news none stop” you kept using WE…., Are OK? 🤣.

I worked in the Medicare& Retirement audit team and witnessed firsthand the unethical practices some individuals at Optum and UHC engaged in. During my audits, I uncovered cases with tragic outcomes, including instances where individuals lost their lives.

You should reflect deeply on your actions and stop using WE🤣. I left UHC for a reason, and it’s about time accountability and scrutiny are directed at their operations!!!!!

BT did not deserve to be poster child. Id go as far to suggest that he may have been one of the few capable of pivoting the trajectory established by Hemsley. Andrew Witty is beyond unqualified to be responsive for a subsidiary of regulated insurance. Pharma. Profits.
Horrible appointee for the federal dollars connected. He is absolutely clueless on tbe integrity of health delivery; let alone US Healthcare. Now disposable, ignorant, self serving video proved that in 2 minutes.

BLOW UP the BoD.
Get rid of Hemsley
Ger Rid of the clueless, arrogant, money grabbing, Brit.

REMIND THE WORLD 🌎🌍 that UNC (United healthcare insurance...) was the OG AND it GREW via acquisition of NOT FOR PROFIT regional health insurers.

It's TOTAL BULLSH-T to behave as if UHC or UHG is self made. It's all corporate greed. Wake up call. RIP BT. You NEVER deserved that fate

GOOD!! This company needs to be watched and put under the microscope. From insurance agents committing outright fraud by signing unsuspecting customers names to applications, to denial of benefits, to cherry picking members to make sure they aren’t too sick (aka … going to cost us a lot of money) to the monopolistic practices of Optum being the largest employer of doctors in the US. United has been left unchecked for way too long. When an investigation from the DOJ does happen it’s swept under the rug with a fine. This company treats fines as a business expenses. Make 500 million doing corrupt things, and if we get caught we pay a 100 million fine— but yeah we still made 400 million, and no one goes to jail. Just find a new con to pull after we get caught. Total trash…. Not sure why this is allowed to keep happening. Actually if the regulators and elected officials did their actual jobs and never let it get this bad, BT would probably still be alive. Hate to say it

A company as soulless as UHC deserves constant and unrelenting scrutiny. The company brought it on itself. Karma or something like that.

The general public is siding with the sho-ter.

That should make you ponder your situation, because you are absolutely working for an evil organization.

Are claims reviewed and denied by a person or a bot? And if a person - are they actually reviewed by someone who speaks and can read English? The inbox is handled in India or by bots - with the volume they have to deal with. Time this egg is cracked!

Andrew Wittys video is the death of UHG.
So many things wrong, the least of which is a non-US healthcare knowledgeable Brit (which is very, very bad optics)

  1. Declared no one else has done more to contribute to healthcare than BT? 🤔. You mean the PwC Accountant? The man who never studued the healthcare industry. Had no "mission" to work within healthcare. Just landed in a spot as a PwC consultant and they brought him in house. INSANE. Countless people have dedicated their careers. Taken the lowest of paying jobs to work in research, policy, advocacy, and patient care; BUT THE BRIT DECLARES BT was the single greatest contributor to the industry? That's an insult to BT himself. He'd never say that.
  1. Professing UHG behemoth status and reinforcing greedy policies as if everyone else is stupid. This is the same guy who left GSK after countless scandals. Again. The Brit. Who is going to "FIRSTLY" scold is to submission just as he forces UHG analytics, data, AI, pharma, etc etc upon UHC and UHC clients and members.

THIS DUDE JUST HANDED THE DEPARTMENT IF JUSTICE THEIR CASE
UHG WILL BE BROKEN UP IN LESS THAN A YEAR.

Good. UHG should be on the front page and in every one of your political representatives inboxes from now until perpetuity. No more hiding their BS. Truth dies in the dark.

Nonstop, not none stop. That’s why your job is in jeopardy, Genius.

No need for you to be a je-k. I'm pretty sure this was a typo. And no, this would not be why his/her job is in jeopardy.

Main stream media is just evil and loves to blow things up. What is your job? Claims are reviewed and denied for administrative reasons the provider submitted the claim to late, etc.. Medical reasons are following policy which are created by medical directors following standards of care for the condition, appeals are revised by specialists of the conditions, this is all spelled out on medical polcies on the provider information page, also how to submit a claim, how to appeal what information needs to be documented and submitted. UHC and Optum like to audit medical records, certain codes require specific documentation if they don't follow the guidelines the claims are reversed and they have to pay the money back, of course they are going to whine about it. Dr-g seekers going to 5 different ERs in 3 days looking for pain meds are going to be flagged and denied, they are going to whine about it. Most members choose their plan so they are picking their coverage, they should know what is covered and whats not when choosing. Employers choose the plans they want to offer their employees not UHC, if they don't like their coverage talk to their emoyers. If everyone does their jobs the way they are supposed to there shouldn't be a problem.
