how long should it take to receive severance package and how long did it take for you to get yours if you were affected by the previous lay offs? I find it extremely odd that they laid us of Wed 12/4 but we haven’t received anything yet and are supposed to get our severance package by end of the day tomorrow…

@1dgk+1vQwMuqX Signing today will delay it. I would recommend your “friend” reach out to the HR contact email address in the paperwork and let them know.
Does anyone know what happens if you signed the severance agreement today (asking for a friend)
Will be interesting to see if the severance pay starts with next week’s paycheck, or two weeks later
August lay off here - I was laid off on a Tuesday to go into effect for that Thursday, so they give a few days to get everything situated. Severance is not a lump sum check, you'll get paid every two weeks as usual throughout the severance period.
Sign up for unemployment ASAP. They'll need a copy of your severance paperwork since they're getting a severance, but you'll be eligible for unemployment. Take advantage and get that going soon. You get Cobra just until the end of the month, then you'll have to pay on your own. You can continue with the same coverage via Cobra, you'll just be paying for it starting January. Check your options soon on that so you're prepared when the end of the month comes.
There are a lot of people who were laid off - I’m sure HR needs to get it all situated and make sure all the paperwork is accurate for everybody which can take time. An email was sent yesterday (Weds) with links to fill out with our personal email and contact info, clearly explaining that our employment would be ending on Friday the 6th, and that the severance details would be emailed to our personal email on Friday. This was also stated in the meetings. No need to fret unless you don’t receive the email tomorrow (Fri).
