- at best you are nothing more than a commodity to be used, traded or discarded as Citi sees fit. Many koolaid drinkers are finally coming to realize this. Citi thinks no more of you than any other asset they have.
- Citi management relies more on the desperation of its employees to squeeze out those long hours. The more you rely on insurance or the pay to feed the many mouths at home, the better. They are quick to remind you that “you need this job, don’t forget that”.
- upper management is getting exactly what they want. They want the current chaos to chase people off so as to avoid the severance payouts. The chaos is by design.
- Regardless of what happens, the CEO will get a raise\bonus and you will not. During some of the most abysmal years, she still got a raise.
- Citi relies on bully tactics to keep you from seeking legal counsel. Often times leveraging HR to dig into “what you have as proof” to vet how solid your ground is.
- Speaking of HR, they are not there to help you. It should be obvious by now.

Let’s not pacify ourselves with kool-aid.
Let's not pacify ourselves with lie
A sinking ship wont get stock price higher and higher
That’s because the final we-pon in their arsenal is an NDA- which strips you of all legal rights forever- and you must sign it when you are at your weakest & most vulnerable. Citi will come after you if you break it- harming you reputationally, financially etc. it’s an abuse of the concept, but who is to know?
as easily and and as carelessly as an elephant crushes a bug.
This is horrible! it hard to believe Citi is able to get away with such illegal acts! thank you for sharing your experience!
@nty+1vQtvFJi - thank you for posting this! Exactly the same thing happened to a colleague- who had hard evidence - and flagged to Citi as required by policy. Same experience as you had- CSIS met with colleague, took his evidence, 6 months later informed him there was nothing wrong- he was isolated from everyone during this period, then laid off without any discussion or legal right. So it may be an established policy to pretend to investigate, protect the wrongdoers, cover up using NDA, and get rid of the employee who spoke up. No doubt these 4 employees are not alone!
Sadly, this is all timely and true.
Citi HR/Citi ethics hotline/Citi employee relations is a big scam. They are there to protect Citi not the employee.
My story, I filed a complaint and things got worst from there. Harrasment, bullying, retaliation, psychological warfare etc. you name it, it happened to me. There is no help for employees in Citi!
My advise to anyone, document everything that happens to you, via email, voice or video recording. When I say document, it means whatever happens to you document same day.
Your obligation by law is just inform Citi, in writing, the incident that occurred.
Once you file a complaint, HR or Citi ethics or Employee relation will reach out to you to investigate. Do not participate in their investigation or speak to them. Don't hand them your evidence. I made that mistake participating in their investigation and providing evidence. Guess what happened, they were able to cover up all their mistakes and then lay you off. I wish I knew what I know now!
P.S. By the way, besides me, I know of two people who experienced the same fate.
