Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

This one's for the sales people

Hello team!

I've had a thought. This new Dell where we have to "do more with less" seems to be setting a majority of us up for failure. Hear me out. I'm all for admitting when I have a bad quarter and owning it. But lately, they have cut so many resources that it's working against us. Some of us have to work double the work now cause everytime someone is wfr we get more and more work. And they mess with our account sets so much that we don't have time to finish a sale cycle we start. When I check in on the team that had my accounts with big deals ready to buy, the new team says customer went silent after account team changes and deal was lost.

I think they want us doing badly so they can fire us with no severance because doing rto didn't generate enough churn they were expecting? What are your thoughts?

Totally respect if you think I'm making excuses but I have had many conversations with team members that seem to make me think this was all done to make us fail so they can fire us later, selectively cause you know if favorites fail they won't be fired haha

I guarantee you that execs want you to hit your sales goals. The company would be much better off if sales hit their targets.

Now, I'm not saying that sales has been setup to succeed. But I think thats more due to execs pushing too hard on expense control vs a conspiracy to get people to quit.

I have never had to work so hard for so little money. The barriers and gatekeeping happening at dell make me 💯 agree with this. They designed this new system to make EVERYTHING harder for us. Our only option is to shut up and find new employment asap. And never sell dell again if we end up employed by a partner.

@hhe+1vQabtuz, some of us want to make some money despite all the bs happening. If we have less help, how do we make money by doing less work? 🤡

Why do people keep saying "do more with less"? JC's quote was very clearly "do less with less"...

If you aren't taking that to heart, you're working way too hard at Dell.

I remember traveling with the sales team visiting a customer and their comment was "how can you call us a relationship account when I have to build a new relationship with a new sales rep every quarter?"

100% agree. Setting people up for failure seems to be the wave of the future to meet reduced employee goal. Severance costs Dell big bucks don’t makes sense to put employees on performance plans and then fire them knowing all the while to workload is way too much. Yet upper management sleeps just fine at night. Very wrong.
