Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

No More “People First”

The Cargill culture has changed for the worst and leadership is disconnected. After 25 years with Cargill, here’s my advice-

  1. To those seeking employment, STAY AWAY from Cargill. Let it be your last option and always look for other options
  2. To those who survived, be proactive-update your resume and be prepared to leave on your own terms
  3. To those who were impacted, there’s life after Cargill. It will be ok. Take time for yourself. Put this behind you. Use knowledge and experience to find your next job. Focus on yourself and your loved ones

Fat shaming makes a post look petty. No need to be nasty. Not all coworkers are twiggy.

I remember we had a Town Hall, where all the smug arrogant leaders sat on stage and pretend to care- during a phony Q&A session. Might as well have worn dunce hats. This lady from HR, whose a** was so fat, she could barely balance herself without falling over on her barstool chair, correctly proclaimed that Cargill doesn’t offer the most competitive salary. But gloated that the work/life balance is just incredible. People first! Hey guys, be sure and show up in person- exciting announcement that lunch in the cafeteria is now free a couple days a week.

Cargill has always been CHEAP. Many years of finding ways to continually sc--w people out of a bonus. Changing comp package every year. Sorry, had to take a write down for closing a plant in Timbuktu - supposed to receive a 1.1— Oops now payout a 0.6. Sorry, another division did terrible— guess what, unfortunately bonuses will take a hit. Completely dysfunctional. Yet textbook definition of MINNESOTA NICE. 😊

Can’t wait for the next ET roadshow where they can tell us how we asked for this culture change and desperately needed it. What a bunch of hypocrites.

Hearing rumors that rebanding will be happening soon and in some cases already has. Can anyone substantiate?

Yes, the "we put people first' should be removed from Cargill's vocabulary! I am a survivor but sitting here hoping and waiting for another wave so I can get my severance package and get the f*k out of this sht hole.

Great advice! Also, this is a lesson in not accepting lower compensation for implied job security. Just because a company is private does not mean they are your friend.
