I heard just a handful of notices being given.
Many groups were (virtually or literally) not impacted. That is good news; but it makes you wonder how they are they going to reach the 17K.

Boeing Australia has started laying off employees.......second round is coming around march and for all BCA
Not yet, affected airline customers haven’t been notified.
It didn’t come as a surprise - it was getting run into the ground not long after being acquired by Boeing. So mismanaged they couldn’t even sell it for pennies on the dollar. And they were very competitive in their market pre-Boeing.
But all things considered, the right decision given Boeing’s current crisis. Still a shame for the employees, contractors and customers affected.
Although the first round of Boeing St Louis layoff notices that already went out included some managers, not enough were targeted. St Louis Boeing is still top heavy, enough to tip the boat with the number of managers they have. On a related note. Has anyone questioned Boeing why they feel they need five layers of HR Management for each Boeing division and at each Boeing site?

Can you share which BGS Subsidiary in Europe was affected?
It’s not even begun yet. Lol
Today they just notched another ~200 in Europe through announcing the closure of an entire subsidiary within BGS.
I think a lot more of "Wave 2" will be non-US locations where country-to-country employment laws related to mass layoffs and collective bargaining/consultations took more time to work through compared to US.
