Thread regarding GE Aviation layoffs

Wilm

It was a nice run for 17 years but not good. Heard wilmington plant is too old to update and work is being send to Asheville, west Jeff and Mexico. Going to miss all the great co workers. Management destroyed wilmington. In 3 years wilmington site will be handed back over to nuclear. The decision came down to Culp being here and seeing people don't work hard and take pride in their work. And also not lean enough for the future growth.

It's what management does best, keep cutting people until there isn't enough people to run the business, then they wonder what happened, and then they cut some more.

Pratt has 7,000 engines in military service world wide. GE has 26,000 as of April 2024. Seems like it's alive and well to me.
