Thread regarding Optum layoffs

UHG is seen as evil

This tragedy has really illustrated how hated United is as a company. Seems worse than the other major insurers. Very little sympathy, more serves them right type mentality from the public. The doj investigation, illegal stock trading, high denial rates, terrible AI are all getting highlighted as part of this.

stupid to not have a security detail for a multibillion dollar ceo. pathetic risk management, learnt nothing from the change attack. hubris, strolling down a street with not a care in the world.
get that security detail if you earn in millions and also have millions of customers who dislike you, that nps is negative for a reason, and ai wont fix it. Let your body guards keep you safe, and remind you of the risk you face when you do wat you do

Executives will never admit the terrible public perception of this company. Nothing will change. All the townhall. Meetings with leaders say just to ignore the social media reaction. This is a for profit org. Leadership is working for shareholders first. Not members or employees. They are conditioned to keep this lie going. But employees are not stupid. It's an open secret.

So true about DOJ role leading to “nothing”.
Look at previous merger Change. DOJ filed a lawsuit, a judge veto’ed and allowed merger to proceed despite concern with anti trust.

When you get so big you hold consumers, providers and employees hostage.. sadly!

Let's be real. NOTHING will change as a result of the shooting. Government doesn't care and everyone else will forget. It's heartbreaking that BTs kids will grow up without a dad.

People are more concerned with the fact that everyone isn’t sympathetic than thinking about why there are so many people not sympathetic. IDT anyone deserves to d*e but i am relieved this company is finally being brought to light and i wish people knew there’s so much more. as someone who was laid off and had my life turned upside down by this company for no reason and no remorse it’s extremely hard to be sympathetic. i guess they know the feeling now to wake up and go to work thinking it’s another regular day for your whole life to be ruined and turned upside down in seconds huh

@uxv+1vPUAmvz There's absolutely nothing wrong with reflecting on how awful UHG has been to bring about such an action from someone. How many good people have died or suffered at the hands of this company?

Though, nothing will be learned from or changed by this. Leadership is too high on their horse, as we all know, and doesn't see any of us common riff-raff as humans worthy of their consideration.

Hate the company. Love the Company. Meh the Company. But the sho-ter should not be seen as representing any of us or as a path to a company more to someone's liking. It's so easy to speak brazenly when you are anonymous. Shame.

This company’s policies and practices put their own employees in danger of retaliation from disgruntled members and providers. I hope they take something away from this tragedy and make changes for the betterment of all.
