Not only did they lay us off before the break and then act like they did us a favor with severance , but they skimped us too.
Previous lay offs for 4week of annual salary severance for every year, the also laid us off in zoom meetings where we couldn’t go on camera, chat disabled, no questions asked and then took our access. MESSED UP COMPANY. i recorded the call. can we sue them?

For each year it's 2 weeks and then they usually add a bonus. It could be a week or up to 4 weeks extra on top of the years you were there. I was laid off there too. I'm sorry it happened to you. I was there for 7 years. I hope you find something soon
@vuv+1vPCHwqi and remember that the people making these decisions (sr leadership) are contractually guaranteed 1-3x their annual salary, even if they're fired! consequences for thee but not for me :)
The package has remained the same, 2 weeks for every year worked. It's such a sc-mmy severance package. The folks with a long tenure had a nice cushion but those who had only been there a year were out cold. One co-worker had just had a baby and had only been at 2U for a year. Sc-m.
GlassDoor and Indeed should be interesting to look at for the next few weeks.

Be careful with that, lawyers are biased towards saying lawsuits have merit because filing lawsuits is how they pay their bills. I don’t see anything in OP’s post that looks like lawbreaking but I’m also not a lawyer
I spoke with a lawyer who said there may be some merit
@evz+1vPCHwqi One-party vs two-party consent laws are enforced based on the location of the recorder, not the location of the people being recorded. I live in a one-party consent state and have recorded multiple calls. Stay mad.
August lay-off here. It was 2 weeks per year.
@gad+1vPCHwqi it's not generous. I've been laid off before with over 100 colleagues who all received 12 weeks, regardless of tenure. I've also had multiple friends laid off with even more, plus bonus payouts.
Post ID: @rlr+1vPCHwqi Never has it been 3 weeks. Always has been 2 weeks serverence pay for every year worked. Which is still very generous. Most companies give you 1 week or nothing at all.
This is how it's playing out in social media. Glad I got out while I did and started another business years before I left. https://www.reddit.com/r/codingbootcamp/comments/1h6wdus/boot_camp_provider_2uedx_is_officially_pivoting/
Scammers? It takes one to know one.

Is it illegal to record a crime in progress? Or should we just go to the WSJ with written notes? Next thing you'll say something about NDAs.
@ysj+1vPCHwqi MD is a 2-party consent state for call recordings. You can't use that for anything official and that was illegal for you to do.
Triple Failure...https://www.classcentral.com/report/2u-axes-trilogy-bootcamps-layoffs/
“2U’s executives have shown time and again that they have no strategy to turn around their failing company. A decade ago, Wall Street and Silicon Valley investors fawned over 2U while ignoring signs that fraud and abuse were central to the 2U model."

Previous was 2 for every year. It's been the same package every single time. Stop spreading bullsh-t.
Previous was 3 weeks for every year - not sure where you got 4
