Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Was there any layoffs at corporate level after the segment restructure?

NOV restructured from 3 segments down to 2 segments, Energy Equipment & energy product & service to reduce top heavy positions. Any layoffs after the VERPs? There were new positions & departments created, moving managers, directors & VPs around, but was anyone actually layed-off?
There were layoffs at the facility level, mainly hourly employees (the ones who actually make products).

It seems that after NOV's restructuring from three segments down to two, there were indeed some layoffs, particularly at the facility level, affecting mainly hourly employees who are directly involved in production. While new positions and departments were created, and there was some reshuffling of managers, directors, and VPs, it appears that the layoffs primarily impacted those on the ground rather than the top-heavy positions

No, they keep the tower full of tons of useless twits who make zero $ for our business. Free lunches, drinks on the company dime. Just put on your expense report that you’re entertaining a customer. Leave early for golf and bbq events. Meanwhile, they tell the shops that actually keep our company running to cut expenses wherever they can. Most of our executive team has never worked a day in their life. Sickening.
