I was asked if I saw my instant message on teams did not I was approached to come to a meeting room asked what it was about response was just come to mtg room about 10 steps knew I was being laid off the person read a typed note while HR just sat there and said nothing
100% accurate this statement made as a reply earlier: Employees were selected based on who they know and not how they performed.
I really hope this article is being worked on and folks speak up. Important for the workd to know what Cargill is really like snd how high performers have been treated. Employees were selected based on who they know and not how they performed.
Feel free to publish the fact that as of 12/6 there has still been no internal acknowledgement of the fatality at the Cargill salt mine in November. The company claims it's been 191 days since the last fatality and there have "only" been 5 in the last year

Speak to media , this company is toxic , the worst company in the world
How can we contact you media ?
As an employee of HR for many years, I agree this function has gone down the tubes. From the polished but lacking in substance CHRO who has brought a dreadful culture along with her from Target, to our laughably inept HR for HR team, particularly the passive aggressive leader of that team. It's a complete mess of a function. I am safe but can't wait to exit HR and Cargill.
It all started when we got the latest CHRO in place. Being in HR for 15 years, here I’ve seen the worst HR transformation / change effort ever. Having HRLT members bullying their own folks to make them want to resign. Targeting sick employees with legal slander and creating a toxic culture overall. Putting people first disappeared and it started within our own HR function. Now that the organization decided to reduce their businesses its only been downhill. Sad to see this happen.
There is nothing in the separation agreement that says you cannot express your opinions or facts with the media.
Go for it and let the world know the truth!
You're asking people to potentially put their severance or employment at risk. For what in return?
Be careful. Do not lose your payments + severance. Anonymity is critical.
I’ll talk! I’m 7months pregnant and was the only one on my central team to get let go!
Cargill, Tyson, John Deere, Bayer....its been a tough year
We lost alot of good workers yesterday in NA. I am still there, but many of those that were cut received an email for a meeting invite that started in an hour and were let go by HR and management that was 2 or 3 levels above them. My coworker litterally had to tell her own manager that she had been fired as her manager had no idea who was getting cut and who wasnt. shortly after, that manager got put on a different team and now I am stuck here with no manager, and no coworker, I was only told that I was being retained and on a new team with more info to come later this week. despite this chaos, Cargill has a great culture with people that are genuine and good to be around. One thing that I will say for those interested in working for Cargill in the future is that they pay lower salaries and the justification is that the industry is "safe" from layoffs...I would like to hear them say that to the thousands of people that were effected...
I worked at Cargill for many years. They had layoffs around 2015, and at the time, the majority of the layoffs made sense in my area - it was mostly low performers, with just one person being an outlier. With the more recent rounds, it seems they are going after certain salary bands, eliminating entire departments. In IT, they let got of around 200 people in July, only to have them replaced by consultants - in fact a friend was contacted by a recruiter for a consulting firm looking to fill his exact same role he was let go from 6 months ago. The culture has changed from the early days - the early days it was an employees first culture, over the years it seems to have shifted to a every man for himself, and hope you are in the right group of friends to be safe.
I left Cargill several years ago so I don't have anything to share, but thank you for covering this.
