Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

Do you remember?

When Cargill spent millions on their 150th anniversary celebrations worldwide? Then shortly after, they eliminated the entire corporate marketing department - the people who actually DID ALL THE WORK to make that happen. I was one of those people.

Too many of you have an altruistic view of this company. They are just like any other soul-less mega-corporation. You exist to make shareholders money. The only difference is the shareholders in this case are mostly a small group of family members so the company is less transparent. And you are too, if you are vested in ESOP. For those saying "I'm selling my ESOP stock," maybe talk to a financial planner - Cargill stock is still a remarkably stable investment that few people are allowed to own. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face because you're pi---d off now.

Life goes on and you will find other opportunities as I did.

You would be better off selling the stock and putting that money into the S&P 500.
