Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Are those incentives over?

Remember a few years ago when they paid people to quit (2021 I think) or another year they offered to opt out of the PIP process and take severance?
I'm wondering if they'll do that again or they're just planning to do layoffs. The company is not in good shape as we all know. It seemed pretty obvious to me their plan was to force low performance reviews in preparation for reductions.
I'm hoping to leave Ford soon. Since I'm planning to leave anyway I'd rather take it than a colleague that would rather stay get let go. With my luck they'll probably offer those again right after I give my notice.
Best of luck to everyone. Layoffs have always been a concern in the back of people's minds but the culture at Ford in the past couple of years has gotten bad. All the best performers I know feel incredibly burnt out and underappreciated. Meanwhile other areas seem filled with people that don't have much to do. And everyone feels micromanaged and under a microscope with the new performance system.

They used to offer people packages with retirement bridges. I haven’t heard of those in years. My guess is they offer them to a select few. Maybe because there aren’t many with a pension anymore. There are always things that happen under the radar. I haven’t heard of any hand raising packages offered in years.

Have a look on life@ford and search for ‘CTP’. You get packaged out based on years of service. It’s not as generous as the ‘21 packages, and you’ll need your boss to initiate it, but if you’ve got 10+ years, you can walk out with a check and benefits for a few months

Build to print, became FSS. The D&R became a program manager. D&R jobs are in MX now, since they can be done from anywhere.

Yes, those incentives still exist. Just ask your manager about them and he/she well be happy to explain them to you.

Billy and Farley chopped off most of the ICE engineering thinking they were so smart that they needed all hands on deck for EV. Fools

And to those in model e thinking everything's bright and wonderful - What you're doing is not making money. The people actually making ANY money for Ford are being treated like cr-p and it's already catching up to the company. Quality tanks for hundreds of thousands of customers when you make it impossible for critical employees on the vehicles that sell to do their job well because it's more fun to put those resources into model e.
