Maximus Inc. has announced the layoff of 34 remote workers in central Iowa after 20 years as a contractor supporting member services for Iowa Medicaid and the Hawk-I program, which provides health coverage for uninsured children.
The layoffs are effective Dec. 31 and affect workers in Polk, Dallas, Boone, Jasper, Madison, Story and Warren counties who provided a contact center for the two health insurance services. The company no longer has a physical location in Iowa.
