Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

“I want that but not that….” Citi upper management reminds me of the cast on the series “Succession”.

Buy this and that cheaper version but make it act like enterprise.

Hire top of the skillset but not at the salary they want.

Follow these processes unless it takes too long then speed it up but follow the processes but make the deadline which is now shorter.

We aren’t sure which direction we will go so plan for and setup for and staff for all avenues ahead of time but don’t spend any money, time or effort on it but be prepared.

Train your people but don’t spend money or company time.

Retain your top talent but don’t give them any raises or bonus’s but make sure they are happy but don’t give them anything for it and demand more from them to keep their job.

Its the main reason I wish to leave. Citi is not very professional. The town halls reflect that. “things are happening” “be ready to move and adjust, we just don’t know how or what but we’ll get there” “be flexible and get ready for stuff” etc…. nothing ever truly solid. The only solid message I’ve heard is “get off of the train”.

Yeah, that’s what I’m trying to do now.

It's the cast of Succession on the Titanic arguing about who gets which lifeboat. We are the sad ones playing violin as the ship breaks in 2.

You are exactly right….EXACTLY like the cast of Succession.
Tons of ‘do it but not really do it’.
