Rumour has it teams with reoccurring bad survey results are at more risk for layoffs. Dissatisfaction indicates dysfunction. If you rate badly please consider your team mates and the harm you are doing to them

Eliminating those that give negative scores improves survey results without having to address the real issues. They are never really anonymous. They will do a RIF and send a new survey after your replacements, most likely offshore, are onboarded.

Stop being a bad boss. That will give you positive surveys.

Don’t ask a question you don’t want an honest answer to.

My survey results are bad because of horrid senior leadership making pisspoor decisions that directly effect the quality of work and the relationship with providers. At no point does my survey reflect on direct leadership but is specifically addressed towards senior leadership. Their decisions directly affect the work environment from directors on down

But as our director advised us, bad surveys affect bonuses. So our team no longer gives feedback, only good survey results.

If there is bad survey results then C suite leadership needs to look at the management that oversees the bad surveys and do the troubleshooting there because that’s where the problem lies . A lot of fat could be cut out of budget with downsizing managers.

If a team is dysfunctional, it needs to be acknowledged and fixed. Team members might not be empowered or feel safe having open, honest conversations with managers and leaders, and honest feedback in surveys is the only option for them.
