My team was impacted by layoffs today. Can I assume I’m safe from this point on? I doubt they would split layoffs within a single team across multiple days, but it would be reassuring to have confirmation. Our manager hasn’t provided any updates on this yet.

The team meeting I was invited to had everyone but the people who were laid off. It was to let us know that we would be retained.
For those impacted, I am sorry... This is like a week long episode of a bad reality show.
A question to help the rest of us... What did the meeting invite look like? Was is a small group or mass meeting? Were you remote, site or office based?
Our manager confirmed we have jobs.
I’m a 40 year employee. Layoffs have been happening nearly continually for the last 15 years. There is no such thing as “safe” in a corporate job. You should always have an up to date resume, a good financial advisor and thick skin.
Until you are contacted by your new manager, keep your fingers crossed.
