Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

Wednesday Huddles

Does anyone know what these are about? They seem markedly different than how the layoff meetings are being conducted. Some of my observations (my group has one scheduled): with a leader and not HR, 250+ people, suspected people already laid off are not invited, no one from a work council country has been invited, and it's only 15 minutes long. Thoughts? Are we safe or are we cooked?

I have heard both sides of this—- team huddles to tell people they are safe, and team huddles to say pack your bags.

Unfortunately, every huddle is different it seems. Pray for the best, prepare for the worse.
God Bless to all—- including myself

Last time they did lay offs in my org, we had a similar meeting where they basically went “we’ve notified everyone in our org, stay tuned for more info.”

We have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow, 200 people invited, I don’t imagine we’re all getting the boot. But maybe. I didn’t think many of the people who got the boot today would have been on the list.
