Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Unlimited R&R

I was told by a credible source within HR (not officially though) that there is a soft cap of 23-24 days in a year, and anything above 30 days gets on the radar, and this was one of the factor used in recent layoffs. Can anyone confirm the policy or ‘guidance’ on the number of days for R&R?

Already asked my manager and they don’t have any answer!

In the Workday drop down menu, there is “Unlimited R and R”. Don’t call it unlimited if there’s a cap. Your manager has to approve it so why wouldn’t your manager be held accountable? And why are there all of these arbitrary limits floating around? Why doesn’t your manager have a solid answer? The caps stated are ridiculously low for any tenure especially compared to other companies. If you are a mid level contributor hired at Chase, you get 4 weeks PTO + sick time+ holidays your first year. If you eliminate WFH, you need to provide decent PTO.

So if you were here for 25 years or 2 years, you max out at 33. There is incentive to leave after 10 years

There's a hard cap at 33 days. My manager told me.

If you look at the R&R policy on one of the last pages it mentions 33 days.

You should have at least what you had before unlimited. If you had 10 years for example, you should have 20 days plus 2 weeks well being for a total of 30 days. If you were there longer, you should have more

I heard the same, its in that 30 day range you start getting watched for how many days you take off.

Oh you worked a numerous weekend days that's are not part of your normal work schedule for 6+ hours & then took a comp day off...you'll get flagged for then taking too many days because the bean counters can't figure it out, like you donated your weekend time to Fiser

No gratitude given for working days you aren't scheduled for....seems like I am no longer available on weekends to assist

Here is the problem you are running into. The criteria for the next layoff will be whatever is in Frank's head that day. Maybe on layoff decision day Frank will decide that 20 days is too many, and that will be the limit.

Or maybe the number of days too many is determined by his layoff goal.

"If we layoff everyone with more than 21.5 days of vacation, then we will hit our layoff goal."

This doesn't make sense. If the soft cap is at 23-24, why would you only be on the radar above 30 and not 23-24

I have been here 20 years. I do the same amount that I had prior to the unlimited. My boss is aware and said that's a good gauge. Which is far more than the small amount you mentioned.
