I was in a past layoff. Was there 15+ years. Got an additional 3 months of paychecks and health, $90k lump sum after the 3 months was over. Spent the summer decompressing and spent time with my family.
It. Was. Awesome.
I love my job, but have been with the company long enough that there is no bad outcome for me here. I want to stay, but don't dread if that's not meant to be.
what does severance package looks like?
Outside the NA market, does Cargill offer severance payments in excess of anything more than the absolute minimum required by law?
Anyone who escapes this week will continue to have a hard time with restricted budgets and downsized teams. It is better to take a handsome package and walk away.
Since when are they worried about high performance, if this hasn't even been considered for layoffs?
They specifically decided against asking for volunteers. They would lose too many of the high performers.
I agree you would think accepting volunteers would be a win/win for everyone.
The fact that they do not allow volunteers shows the amateurism in the leadership
Yes I am! I tried to volunteer but was told we don't know who is making the decisions. Being at Cargill forever, I am not a fan of some of the changes and ready to take my severance.
