Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Another CEO exits the Intel Clown Car

Probably this doesn't go on for infinity, as being CEO of a Product and Foundry company is likely untenable, which is why they have never found an external hire for the job.

There is no real internal bench to pick from, as demonstrated by choosing D-mb and D-mber to be 'co-ceos'. Few companies of this size would even want David to be CFO, as he is incompetent.

Breakup seems the only solution, then let product divisions merge with a few successful companies, and Foundry either is an IPO or maybe merges with a company which has management capability to actually run a foundry.

The combined companies could be called Global-tel Foundries, or Samsung-tel.

Several companies have expressed interest in various product divisions.
Ignore the trolls who think the company has no value. That's nonsense.

The govt could force mergers, even with the new administration.

Past attempts to merge were blocked by regulators and other companies still see plenty of capability and value in Intel product architecture and design.

Aside from antitrust concerns, the real sticking point for Pat and previous CEOs was their desire to keep Foundry and Products in the same company, to the point of turning away potential Foundry customers over the issue.

Why? Because the breaking apart of Intel eliminates the need for such high salaries. The CEO, ELT and Board of an independent CCG or DCG (or Foundry) can't get as rich without actually running those individual businesses in a competitive manner.

Who would buy product though, how much $$$ do you need to pump in each year to get a return on TSMC leading nodes considering their prices will go up with the surge in demand.
