Thread regarding GE Healthcare layoffs

GE HC Doesn't Care

I retired, followed all the rules only to Find GE Healthcare "Gave me incorrect information" - in writing and my husband has no health insurance.

The HR grinch who broke the news promised to email documents for my husband to apply for part B today -- and didn't

After 38 years my husband is uninsured because of a lie and HR does not care

What is the savings plan Snafu?

For humor I'll add a letter yesterday from GE HC hyping a new personalized benefit to help me loose weight.

Problem is I'm 5'8"and weigh 120 lbs

Between Alight and Workday, HR has essentially been eliminated from GE. The HR folks that do exist in the US are inaccessible, with employees being funneled to India to a help desk that reads off a script and won't deviate from that to provide any meaningful information. Another cost-cutting measure that has gone off the rails and puts employees last. Expect continued benefit cuts, including retirement, moving forward as the bean counters try to move the needle (aka stock price) by making all the wrong moves for employee retention and long term growth.

I was layed off a couple of months ago and had so many problems with Alight HR. I was never able to access the new health insurance for 2025 that I will pay for on a monthly basis, had to blindly sign up for it by the deadline without being able to see any coverage information, even with multiple help desk cases, they were never able to fix it, total cluster.

If you retired, why would GEHC provide health insurance (especially for your spouse)? Based on your comments it looks like your spouse is Medicare eligible. Try Medicare.gov. If not Healthcare.gov for coverage.
