It was just cruel. It hit the old and the new and it also included people who were on leave as well. A lot of the selected were not chosen by their direct leadership team and some leaders did not get the opportunity to advise their employee...it was done on their behalf. Then, before the ink could dry the leadership team was slapped over the head with a mandate that basically warns that they will be terminated if they deviate from the new policy of 5 days a week and 9 hrs. a day in the office. The new "requirement" will impact mostly the women in those senior level roles, not the men...so it feels targeted and DEFINITELY does not provide the work/life balance everyone so desperately needs these days. Most of us will rise to the occasion as we always do, however not without critical employees giving the company the middle finger and high tailing it to brighter pastures. It used to be a great place to work and then the merger happened and Franky boy got his greedy paws involved, everyone is a metric, a number and soon a relic, if you still work for this company poor you, for the ones impacted... LUCKY THEM...I don't think they realize how blessed they really are BECAUSE everyone else go forward will simply just be fired with no severance, no unemployment...no cares!!!
These layoffs have been worse than others. And the new mandate is insane. I’m putting this post up because it summarizes it all well.
