Sell it back to Ford! They are all in on spending money on albatrosses like this. Just look at the money that they wasted on the train station.

All good points. Issue I see is the decision makers at GM that tell us to Be Bold will have a tough time making the call because you can’t quantify common sense via analysis or in a spreadsheet they can fall back on.

Here's the dirty little secret:
Aside from losing millions in demolition costs, the public backlash for tearing it down will be worse than getting pennies on the dollar for a sale.

The obvious outcome will be: A sale where GM gets much less than what it paid for.
A good PR gesture: Donate the complex to the city! Don't hold your breath but I believe this is the best outcome.

In the meantime, it's a really bad look to shake down a poor city like Detroit.
