We had 2 managers let go from GBS operations who have been with the company close to 10 years. Now I need to pick up their slack with no extra pay… just new mandates. Why does it feel like those let go with severance are the lucky ones? Were left to clean up the mess and pick up the extra work. Teams are already maxed out as they are.

They won't allow you to volunteer, but if you are really interested, do the minimum required or fall a little short will get you on the list for the next round. Perhaps around March.

Because they were lucky? Unless they were remote in some far flung area… They will find jobs hopefully soon enough.
