Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Is it me or does this last Layoff Off Feel different?

Is it me or does this last Layoff Off Feel different? This board has been through many RIF's however the amount of posts the comments the disbelief seems elevated. Does any one agree with me? The comments here are coming every few minutes. Did it go too deep, the number impacted or is it because this one might have touched the recently hired as well. Thoughts?

As a new employee, it is clear that they want to reduce the force and not pay severance. I’ve only been here 3 months but my manger seems over the top stressed. Clearly he knows his team is about to be decimated plus he now has to be in the office himself 5 days a week for 45 hours. I can’t imagine anyone staying who can get out. The actually physically locations aren’t even productive for working from the office. Fiserv is going to have to compete with firms in NYC who are more flexible so I’m sure I’ll see a substantial reduction in my team. Also no one cares about the actual work product. The only thing I’ve heard about since being here for 3 months is hours in a chair. Taken together, this is a company that has SERIOUS issues bc the trust between employee and upper management has completely broken down. All signs pointing to a rough 3 months much less 12 months.

Umm… it was bad before but I’d classify this as “hair on fire bad” now. The laundry list of how far this company has fallen is too long to list but deserves a college thesis on bad management.

It was time to get out a while ago, this just confirmed it on so many levels its too much to even list. Shameful really, some will rationalize and carry on, but for how much longer hard to say. The many reasons are one thing, the many holes this created just made the jobs for those that remain that much harder.

Let's face it we work for a fake Godfather who did not have the courage to make this announcement himself. Morale is no longer a word at the Frankserve company. Should change stock symbol to FB.

There's no work-life balance any more. The silver-lining is the layoffs were based on cold metrics, so favoritism which was very common did not have a chance in play, so you would be surprised to find out there were a lot of people who were not working as hard as what led you to believe.

It was just cruel. It hit the old and the new and it also included people who were on leave as well. A lot of the selected were not chosen by their direct leadership team and some leaders did not get the opportunity to advise their employee...it was done on their behalf. Then, before the ink could dry the leadership team was slapped over the head with a mandate that basically warns that they will be terminated if they deviate from the new policy of 5 days a week and 9 hrs. a day in the office. The new "requirement" will impact mostly the women in those senior level roles, not the men...so it feels targeted and DEFINITELY does not provide the work/life balance everyone so desperately needs these days. Most of us will rise to the occasion as we always do, however not without critical employees giving the company the middle finger and high tailing it to brighter pastures. It used to be a great place to work and then the merger happened and Franky boy got his greedy paws involved, everyone is a metric, a number and soon a relic, if you still work for this company poor you, for the ones impacted... LUCKY THEM...I don't think they realize how blessed they really are BECAUSE everyone else go forward will simply just be fired with no severance, no unemployment...no cares!!!

We found out about the new rules late Tuesday afternoon, after your voice results were discussed Monday. I think responses would be alot different now. This is not how you treat professionals. Spyware on your computer tracking your every move. 9 hour workdays, measured by when you login and out. Why can't they just use the times we badge in and out. And let's not forget there's only parking for about half of the employees, and driving to the shuttle lot adds 20 to 30 minutes to your commute. I don't see how anyone with kids could work here anymore. It's like they want people to leave.

So much has happened all at once that I think the realization is setting in that Fiserv’s management really doesn’t care about or trust its employees at all. I mean they casually use word like tracking and monitoring like we are checking in and out of a prison work release program. And the timing, right after Your Voice, it’s so calculated, the impact won’t be seen for another year. At the rate we turnover it will be diluted by 20-30%.

I think people realized that Fiserv leadership has "declared war" on their workforce - this is not natural or normal! This defies all logic and is against all the best business practices learned over the last century.

This is coming from the actions of psychopathic leadership!

I would yes but it was a combination of the RIF's, the badge requirements and all right before Thanksgiving. I know this spurred me into action applying for jobs and has left a very sour taste in others to the point they are now looking or will be soon.
