Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel's spiral

Hard to believe this place isn't doing worse, given the recent years of clueless leadership and zero vision. Every time it's clear change needs to happen, they just keep coasting. When the numbers tank, their big move is always the same - reshuffle, lay off, repeat. Maybe selling to someone who cares is the only hope.

Once endured a meeting where the 1st level manager went around the room introducing everyone to the executive, calling out all the 1st and 2nd level managers while skipping over the engineers, who btw were pulling nights and weekends for the project. Then at the end of the intro he looked directly at me, and said "and the rest of the team".

@axu+1vG9Gpc4 - "They still refer to me as the "team" in meetings.

That's absurd.

You should have a t-shirt printed: "I am the TEAM".

I think Pat is just stalling for his contract to be up. He is going to get a payoff and then move on. Listen...everyone knows Intel cannot recover. Even now the once highly successful CPU is NOT recommended by all the gamer content providers due to the microcode issues of Intel. It is really over.

After the layoff, everyone I work with is gone, the project still remains, so they just re-shuffled, and now I'm buried under under a stack of newly minted managers again. I have three different managers. It's like an orchestra with 3 conductors and 1 instrument. They still refer to me as "the team" in meetings.

Intel is indeed a good lesson for US. It needs to change. Yet change just for the sake of it makes further changes impossible.

Enjoy the ride when the economy and financial system does the same in the next few years.
