Or at least replace everybody with people who know how to do their work? The current lot are slow to respond, constantly give wrong info, and seem totally out of their depth. It’s like they’re in a competition to see how unhelpful they can be. I've been trying to get something sorted, but it feels like I'm hitting a brick wall every time.

HR should self assess. If you sit in a meeting with the Engineers and you don't contribute except to say a couple of words to feel like youre contributing, then just leave.
Why are they paid the same or more than engineers?
HR dept in Ireland are a joke. VSP period this year they had no clue.
HR has been a key factor in Intel's downhill roll.
HR only exists to reduce the number of lawsuits brought by employees.
They are now there to help the employees that's for sure.

HR has been all down hill since I left HR and took the fat ERP :)
