I've been hearing that the next round of layoffs will be mid-December. Has anyone else heard anything?

CVS announces 40 more Aetna-related layoffs

CVS Health, the parent of Aetna Inc., informed the state and city of Hartford on Monday that it will lay off 42 more employees who work for the Hartford-based health insurer.
In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed with the state Department of Labor, CVS states that it plans to eliminate 40 positions from Aetna’s facility at 151 Farmington Ave., during a 14-day period between Jan. 25 and Feb. 7, 2025. Of the 40 employees affected, just 12 actually work on-site; the rest work remotely.
In addition, 22 of the 40 employees affected live in 14 other states, including three in Massachusetts and two in Pennsylvania.
The WARN Act notice states that all affected employees have been notified of their expected date of separation. It adds there are no bumping rights for the affected employees, none of whom are represented by a union.

A company spokesperson said Tuesday that all the affected employees will receive "severance pay and benefits, including access to employment services."
The latest round of layoffs follows CVS Health’s announcement in October that it would terminate 416 employees from its office at 151 Farmington Ave., most of whom also work remotely. The additional layoffs will bring the total number of jobs cut to 458.
CVS Health has struggled over the past year with various issues, including higher medical expenses from its Hartford-based insurance arm that have weighed down its earnings.
Earlier this month, it named former UnitedHealthcare CEO Steve Nelson as president of Aetna Inc. Nelson succeeded Brian Kane, who left Aetna in August after less than a year at the helm of the 170-year-old health insurer that is one of Hartford’s largest employers and taxpayers.

Yes. More layoffs around December 15th. Top brass is on vacation after that. They have quotas for this year.
It's 42. Some in Hartford some remote with term dates being the end of January, beginning of February. They list where some people reside. Mostly the SW. Some remote still have Hartford as their office.
At this point, anyone who is telling people that they are OK until next year is doing a disservice to their teams. Anyone who is not looking is doing a disservice to themselves.
With this new article it leaves the impression 46 new cuts for those who report to Hartford.
My reading comprehension must be off.
There were 2900 laid off 10/1 with various termination dates. Most being in December.
This notice gives another 42.
The letter talks about another 416 in December. Where is that 416? Is it part of the 2900?
You can avoid being laid off by simply not joining any unscheduled TEAMS calls or answering your phone. Block internal emails and set an autoreply with "this is an outgoing email address only"... then patiently wait. They'll give up quickly and move on to someone else..
Top notch morale. Layoffs and 30% bonus funding?!? Who’s actually working anymore?
Yes. Rolling layoffs in ddat, heard more engineers and EMs this time.
No one will be laid off on a Sunday doofus (Dec 15).
A lot of IT in that list. It seems like rolling layoffs are ongoing focused on DDAT.
Sounds like some additional layoffs tied to CT location…. these employees must have just been notified.

At this point idgaf
If what everyone “heard” every time they post here was true, there would be mass layoffs every single week of the year and the entire company would currently have negative 42,687 employees.
It's all rumor. No one will ever know until you know.
Stop spreading false rumors. There are no layoffs planned. They did however, recently released many contractors.
Where did you hear this? We were told in DDAT — design that nothing else was planned for now.
Yes I heard December 15 effective 1/1. If you're meeting with people who aren't in your direct chain of command, skip levels, COE, business transformation teams. It may be a head up.
There are ongoing layoffs outside of that date though.
