Thread regarding VMware layoffs

What actually happpened at VMware

A bunch of middle and snr managers thought that they knew how to run a business after they had been sitting on their as--s collecting paychecks for simply breathing. Newsflash, you’re all going to be UNEMPLOYED

Yes. Now I have 1.35 million in cash. Just want to see what Buffett is going to do with his 350 Billion. 350 Billion is like the 3 largest dollar reserve after Japan and China. Even the Fed doesn't have that kind of dollar reserves.

Sure we may all be unemployed at some point in the future (bear or far)
But the reality is that every 3 months I get a paycheck that pays like a years salary used to.. so lasting a year so far is like being employed for 5.

All good by me! Here’s to surviving the next 3 months!

Did Betsy and her team get a job at Jaguar? Seems like the same slow fu-k up unfolding there with a car brand worrying more about DEI than making and selling cars.

What happened? VMware tried to ACQUIRE its way forward, which brings both good and bad into your organization.

You end up with many employees that you never would have hired, had it been up to you.

"Well you guys got what you wanted now in the form of a spray tanned washed up con artist as YOUR ( not my ) president. So shut up and be happy for a hot second before you go back to being pi---d at any and everything."

Libs still don't realize their extremism with identity politics and constant virtue signaling is what put the orange man back in office. People are simply tired of the constant virtue signaling, with the land acknowledgements, and pronoun announcements. You all went so far left, you left a lot of your would be voters behind. Congrats!

What actually happened at VMware:

  • business units are run by In**ian who value caste, tribe, and nepotism over actual qualifications
  • board of directors fails to provide governance
  • the least qualified person to replace the outgoing CEO is named successor
  • woke princess of HR is instead running all CEO to Board communications
  • company is acquired by someone who convinced both boards and groups of shareholders that he can run it better.

Stupid comment to say the least. One of things I noticed in my 4+ years there is that everything ran in silos and integration of acquisitions was minimal at best, with too much power given to the individual BU's. While I hate Broadcom and what they've done with a passion, conceptually VMware should have done some of those things, consolidation of products and solution. Again, BCOM is a terrible company and will pushed too far to in one direction to sc--w customers, but tech wise, they should have made a bigger push to consolidate and that comes from the top of the management chain, not middle managers.
