Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Back to office

Majority of companies these days are hybrid or remote. You give people one week notice before letting them know to come back immediately. Threaten them if we give back our over time. This company and the shitbags who run it know nothing about how to run a company they know how to run a company to the ground and how to ruin people’s lives.

We have people who do not even live in new york state, they get to work from home. Upper management sits on their lazy as--s from their houses not knowing a f’n thing about the company but wants everyone to come into the office. That is all fine. January would have been sufficient. Not days after you warn people and then threaten people. I sent in my resignation. Do not come and work here.

They want people to quit, and people are and will do that. They have been abused way too long. They want people back to work while the higher ups are sitting home or on vacation doing nothing but complaining, since they know nothing about their jobs. Senior management needs to go. This place is in the toilet

There is a lot of battles to be fought but getting in your car everyday and driving to work isn't one of them.

Where would you possibly get the idea that “the majority of companies these days are hybrid or remote”? It’s simply not true. Several recent accredited surveys of US business expect 87-90% of businesses will return to the office by the end of the year. Anyone under the illusion that the hybrid or remote models would continue hasn’t been paying attention. There’s lots of things at Altice fully deserving complaint, this isn’t one of them.

What's great...the CEO and his buddy that runs Customer Service live out of footprint. Their family members and friends don't tell them about the service good or bad. They don't have to see the poor employee they fired at the local shopping mall or beach. Its a disgrace...

They want people to quit. It's as simple as that. People made decisions about their yearly benefits based on hybrid work. Then, right after everyone submitted their yearly benefit selections, they were told to come back to the office full time, with no notice. People already made holiday plans for the month based on a hybrid schedule. Some people even took overtime shifts a month or more in advance, knowing they would be home on those days. Now, because they need someone to watch their kids or can't make it in for some other reason, they're being threatened! Management wants their names! Now, when people can't work the overtime shift because of a last-minute decision with no notice at all, they are being threatened if they cancel. Way to create a positive work environment.

Senior leadership is creating a toxic culture, punching down and spreading fear. Senior leadership can't possibly be the issue right? They outsourced most of the company. It's not just in the field. Many parts of the company are filled with contractors and outsourced vendors doing work that should be done in-house. Many teams aren’t even located within the United States—not just customer service, but engineering teams as well. It's a total mess, and senior leadership has no idea what they’re doing.

Keep threatening your employees. Keep putting them down constantly because every problem can't possibly be from outsourcing most of the company. Keep spreading a culture of fear and uncertainty. Morale is totally down the toilet, and nearly everyone is looking around now for other opportunities.
