- Lay off senior techs and Engs (both good and bad)
- Lower hiring standards and replace 1 laid off employee with 2 new hires working for fast food wages.
- Expand HR due to increased hiring demand.
- Hire more managers because increased headcount.
- Expect existing techs and engs to produce the same output while training new hires and covering for shortages. Blame them when they can’t.
- Ponder why the company is failing.
- Take away free coffee and/or move office furniture around.
- Promote HR and management for their genius cost saving measures.

Weak management with absolutely no clue how to innovate and engineer.
Technoligist are doers that get it done with competence and confidence.
Decision makers and breakers are a bunch of id--ts in charge.
MBAs and Lawyers have ruined many companies and goverments.
Fire the ELTs all the way management down. We need fab innovators not construction spenders.
300plus HR volunteers tried to leave. Some were denied. HR does not want to be here. Believe me.
The sad part is that intel still has a lot of outstanding engineers but terrible management and politics destroy their effort.
Intel has been somewhat adept at gross and sweeping hc cuts but when it comes down to actually cutting projects or more importantly changing the process and org structure to set about material change in strategy there seems to be little evidence of positive steps.
Simultaneously developing 18A while sending products to TSMC to manufacture destroying shareholder value and employees at an alarming rate.
The company says that it will all be sorted out in 2025 and 2026. First in 2025 the company will get to cash flow break even and then back to profits when enough volume moves to 18A in 2026.
Running my own numbers I don't see how this is achievable wo major revenue and market share boosts. No guidance yet from the co. On 2025 details so for now we wait...

That sounds like one of the old jokes that begin with why do you need 4 people to replace a light bulb.
The root of the problem is that it does not make sense to do your own process R&D when TSMC wafers are being purchased in parallel. This is where INTEL's profit margin is being eroded. Lets not have false hope that 18A will even match TSMC. It will not happen.
So it doesn't matter what POR you use, the fact is that most of LTD does not even need to exist.
So just get your pay and try to hang on for as long as possible.
There is NO recovery for Intel. Run the numbers it is obvious. Only facing Intel is a type of buyout / bankruptcy. Massive layoffs are a certain.
If it really happens as you described, Intel is doomed and will fall through the loop soon.

A lot engineers who actually design and code were laid off but the projects still remain and now the workload is ridiculous. The "tech lead" zombies still remain and are roaming around looking for projects to "manage". My project has 1 engineer (me) and 3 tech leads, who just sit in meetings, write emails, and take credit for my work.
I generally agree but I’ve seen a satisfying number of HR types announcing their departure on LinkdIn. One of them was the champion of DEI efforts.
Truly sad but not too far from the truth.
