On the UHG board people are posting that something big is happening in Optum for Feb 2025. They claim list have been generated with peoples titles and ages. Wow same thing that happened in April and July this year prior to the deep cuts. Plan don’t get surprised

January 16th is the day
This date also allows them to avoid paying annual bonuses to eligible employees. Not surprising to anyone who has paid attention to the last two rounds

Of course hold off on layoffs for the new administration. Smh
Did you all know that posts are removed from this site? The first time it happened I assumed a glitch, yesterday I posted a perspective on this thread that called out UHG for their corporate greed. I suggested an idea that would potentially alter how they do business, several people reacted to it, both positive and negative. Now my post is gone, are we sure UHG hasn’t spent some of those billions they earn every quarter to censor free speech on this site? After all they purchase and assimilate their competitors. Well they won’t silence me and I will go out of my way to never be their customer!
To the person talking about AI.
Current “AI” or large language models are not good enough to replace most jobs. They are good at content creation such as writing letters and possibly customer service. Right now in Optum there is a huge push to put AI in everything but that is ridiculous because it isn’t good at everything. All these projects being funded have put up ridiculous cost savings numbers that will never materialize. For example, people are going as far as to say we won’t need claims processors anymore which is BS. They say the same thing for IT and look what is happening. Quality is dropping, communication has never been worst between business and tech.
While I agree companies are going crazy over AI, it will not work out unless there are major breakthroughs in the next few years that really push it forward.
You will hear more and more people being laid off as AI gets better and better. This is what the future holds for humans. I know, not many people think about this on a daily basis but this is exactly what the top level management and executives are working on and not making it public in any of the companies. Next year (2025), in the second half of the year, you will see unemployment increase more then you've seen during the past few years. Many companies are incorporating AI into their systems and automation is starting to ramp up. You don't need to go far to see what's happening with AI. Just look at Nvidia's share price history. Why? Every company who can afford to buy their GPU AI chips and systems are doing it. AI is changing the world in front of your eyes. But are you willing to open your eyes wide enough for you to see how it has affected current and future human jobs. The CEOs and Board Members of any company aren't your biggest concern, they have to incorporate AI into their company systems else they will fall behind competition, but AI is and should be your biggest concern. Not even the engineers at Google know any longer how AI is able to code itself and learn by itself these days. There is no way to reverse this or understand it. It is beyond human capability but no one will tell you that. No one.
I have also hear the February date
Feb will bring with it a huge cut in services. The Board has agreed that a transformation is needed, new government, new direction. It’s just pruning its cost structure.
