Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Juniper- a lost decade

RR became a CEO in Nov 2014 , when the stock price was around 22$.
Stock price after the buyout is 40$.
This implies a compounded return of 6 percent over the last decade. Without a buyout this is even worse.SP500 meanwhile had a return of 12 percent in the same timeframe.
In this day and age , when CEO ‘s have to perform or get shunted out in 3-4 years, how did RR last a decade? Why was the BOD doing? Why not give someone else a opportunity to take this company out of the funk?

I can't agree on this. I stayed in Juniper for 2 year before I got laid off and what I realized that leadership team was trying their best to keep employees away from layoffs, even though company was going through some tough competition. It takes courage, character, empathy and patience to keep their employees safe. It is easy to have the business mindset and seeing everything through that lance and keep firing and hiring , but the company had employees first mindset and they kept working with what resources they had without worrying of about the share price and all.
However, it is also not possible to continue when technology is changing so fast. He took the right action when it got necessary.
I have good thoughts for Juniper but at the same time, I had to go through a lot of nuisance too.

RR should not get credit for Mist, it was a team who recommended to buy Mist. RR should be known has the person who could not hire a CRO who was capable of leading a billion dollar company to further growth. That's a fact.

Many of the original MIST leadership are in leadership roles at Juniper and are moving over to HPE. Do people who post on this site actually work at Juniper?

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

They should have let the Mist Leaders run the company

RR was at the helm for the MIST acquisition, which is arguably what prevented Juniper from fading away into irrelevance.

Board is d-mb. They didn't take a risk to press the gas pedal, rather they let RR not to sink the ship.
