Thread regarding VISA Inc. layoffs

More layoffs coming?

Any confirmed target teams anyone knows about coming into the new year?

In the product org and have heard of a few teams laying people off this week (right before thanksgiving? Thanks Visa). Had one on my team effected directly, they had 8+ years at Visa and a lot of knowledge that will be lost upon exit…

SVP leadership seems to not be good at all for the last 2+ years. No clue on actual product management and what it takes to build good products and have good relationships with the development team to get things done effectively. They just know risk/banking and cracking the whip/lay on blame.

Personally I’m looking to exit asap, even though my direct manager is wonderful they can only be so effective with the leadership team above them.

How to get laid off? I started to look for internal job opportunities, notified my manager, manager got the 'hint' and I got laid off. I was doing the work of 2 or more people and felt burned out physically and mentally. Several of my colleagues left, resigned on their own, did not get severance package, but I Did No regrets :)

Volunteer to get laid off? Have a conversation with your manager and ask if there is an option to get laid off. There are many creative ways to get laid off

Your role is useless, you need to get over that.

I was told I would very well be impacted. Very demoralizing, so I don't think we're out of the woods just yet.

Does anyone know if years prior to acquisition counts towards the severance package? I'm already concerned hearing it's a terrible one considering years of employment
