look at the housing price in San Diego. It has as high living cost as Bay Area. But consumer electronics have low margin. The only way Qualcomm can survive is to taper down SD engineering team and move more R&D to India low cost area. CA can’t do it properly, it needs more corp finance knowledge and skills. It doesn’t sound political correct but it is the only way to keep this ship afloat.

Come on, San Diego is not as expensive as the Bay Area. In the Bay Area, you have to pay at least 1.2 -1.3M for a 1000SQFT SFH. Bigger houses are selling for less than 1 million in Mira Mesa.
